Parent and Family Program Coordinator

Utah State University is seeking two highly organized and student-centered professionals to join the Student Orientation and Transition Services (SOTS) team. We are hiring from a single applicant pool to fill two positions: the Onboarding Parent Coordinator (Program Coordinator I) and the Transition Parent Coordinator (Program Coordinator I). Both coordinators will support Parent and Family Programs at Utah State University by coordinating communications, events, and engagement initiatives for parents and supporters of prospective, incoming, and current students. These positions serve as a key point of contact for families, helping them navigate the student experience while developing programs, managing communications, and collaborating with campus partners to enhance family engagement and student success. Both coordinators assist with program logistics, technology platforms, student staff supervision, and continuous improvement efforts across parent and family initiatives.

The Onboarding Parent Coordinator will work with prospective and incoming parents, helping them through orientation and the transition to Utah State.
The Transition Parent Coordinator will work with current parents, ensuring they have continued support and connections to the rest of the university.

• Coordinate and deliver parent and family programs, services, and engagement initiatives that support families of prospective, incoming, and current students across the Utah State University system.
• Develop, schedule, and manage communications for parents and supporters through email, web, and other communication platforms to ensure families receive timely and accurate information.
• Plan and execute parent and family events, including orientation programs, family engagement activities, and other university-sponsored initiatives.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for parents and supporters, responding to inquiries and connecting families with appropriate campus resources and services.
• Collaborate with university departments and campus partners to develop resources, communications, and programming that support student success and family engagement.
• Maintain and update program content across websites, communication platforms, and orientation systems to ensure information is current, accurate, and accessible.
• Utilize technology platforms and data tools to manage programs, monitor engagement, evaluate outcomes, and inform continuous improvement efforts.
• Assist with the hiring, training, supervision, and development of student employees supporting parent and family programs.
• Support sponsorship, partnership, and outreach efforts that enhance parent and family engagement opportunities.
• Collect and analyze feedback from families and campus stakeholders to identify needs, assess program effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
• Represent Student Orientation and Transition Services at university events, presentations, and outreach activities.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and one year of progressively responsible related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Experience contributing to programs, projects, or communication plans. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with parent and family programs or a related field at an educational institution. 
• Experience managing communication strategies across different populations. 
• Experience with CRM systems, communication platforms, or orientation software (e.g., ADG, CampusESP, Blackthorn). 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Skill in connecting authentically and communicating effectively with students and their families.
• Strong understanding of student development theory, onboarding best practices, and transition programming, with the ability to apply these concepts in designing effective support for various populations. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that support clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate messaging. 
• Skill in communicating confidently and professionally with associate deans, faculty, administrators, and staff.  
• Ability to process, recall, and accurately apply detailed technical information across varied scenarios.
