The Assistant Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life is charged with providing oversight and direction to the affiliated students and recognized Fraternity and Sorority Life chapters on campus but will work primarily with the chapters under the Interfraternity Council (IFC), College Panhellenic Council (CPC), and Special Interest communities. This position will help strategically implement best practices, policies and initiatives designed to enhance the overall growth and development of these communities. The individual in this role is expected to share responsibilities with the Coordinator for Fraternity and Sorority Life and the Assistant Director for Multicultural Affairs for the day-to-day operations needed to fully support the fraternity and sorority community. This position will also provide support for registered student organizations by coordinating registration and providing oversight of new student organizations including review, on-boarding, and training for officers and advisors. The Assistant Director is a team member within the Office of Student and Family Engagement and reports to the Director of Student and Family Engagement. This position will supervise the Coordinator for Fraternity and Sorority Life and requires evening and weekend hours.
Salary Range: $45,000-$48,000 and is commensurate with experience and other qualifications. This is an exempt, 12-month, full-time staff position.
Council and Chapter Advisement
Actively advise the executive officers of the College Panhellenic Council (CPC) or Interfraternity Council (IFC) and hold regular one-on-one meetings with council leadership. Attend weekly executive council and general assembly meetings for the council and oversee any council sponsored programs and events. Serve as the primary advisor and point of contact for all coordinated recruitment/intake efforts for the governing council. Hold regular one-on-one meetings with assigned chapter presidents with the CPC, IFC, and/or Special Interest communities. Develop and facilitate educational workshops and training for council officers, chapter presidents, general members and chapter advisors addressing relevant student and community issues. Establish best practices for increasing student success indicators. Aid in the management, compilation, and distribution of statistical information and reports. Help appropriately address and resolve conduct and risk management incidents.
Fraternity & Sorority Life Administrative Duties
Provide budgetary oversight and authority for all fraternity and sorority life accounts, ensuring that expenditures are appropriate and in compliance with University Fiscal Policies. Serve as a member of the FSL Advisor Team and assist with the development and execution of short-term, long-term goals and objectives related to Fraternity and Sorority Life. Develop, implement, and enforce all University policies, including Fraternity and Sorority Life expectations around membership, reporting, and academic excellence, in conjunction with the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Office of Student Conduct. Assist with the development and execution of general Fraternity and Sorority Life targeted programing (i.e. advisor trainings, risk education sessions, FSL Town Hall meetings, community development events, recognition programs, etc.) and provide on-site supervision to FSL community events. Compile and distribute academic reports for individuals and organizations recognized by the university. Monitor the academic progress of organizations, and design programs to encourage scholarship within the FSL community. Manage and maintain the Fraternity and Sorority Life website and MocSync portal. Maintain a comprehensive calendar of fraternity and sorority events and meetings throughout the year. Assist with the recruitment and intake processes of other councils/communities as needed. Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with affiliated students, alumni advisers, regional leadership, corporation board officers, house directors, inter/national officers and headquarters, and community officials.
Student Organization Support
Contribute to the management of registered student organizations by coordinating registration and oversight of new student organizations, including all on-boarding processes and meetings with student organization leaders. Maintain accurate information and databases for new student organizations and student leadership, faculty/staff advisors, and contact information. Work in collaboration with Student Government Association officers to oversee new registered student organization review and approval process.
Additional Responsibilities
Coordinate the planning, marketing, and execution of Winter Welcome. Coordinate the planning, marketing, and execution of Late-Night Breakfast. Assist with the coordination of student engagement related sessions and/or activities at New Student Orientation sessions. Regularly assess, evaluate and communicate the effectiveness of student organizations and fraternities/sororities. Attend appropriate University functions and campus events to maintain visibility/approachability. Assist with other programs/events and initiatives sponsored by the Office of Student and Family Engagement. Serve on office and divisional program initiatives and university committees. Establish positive working relationships with campus partners and key stakeholders. Stay abreast of current trends related to fraternity and sorority life and student organizations. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree; 2-4 years of full-time experience advising fraternities and sororities in a professional role (will consider two years of graduate assistant experience as one year of full-time experience.)
Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Student Affairs or other relevant discipline; 3-4 years of experience advising fraternities and sororities in a professional role and at least 1 year of experience supervising professional staff.
