Associate Director of Family Engagement & the Denison Professional Network

The Associate Director of Family Engagement and the Denison Professional Network plays a critical role in fostering and expanding Denison’s professional network for our alumni and students. Additionally, this individual will play a key role in providing opportunities for Denison families through engagement programming.

This role will help to implement the Alumni and Family Engagement (AFE)’s strategic plan priority focused on enhancing and expanding the Denison Professional Network.
 
In the Family Engagement work, this position will collaborate with campus partners on other key touchpoints for families, including Family Weekend, Regional Family Events, First-Year Move-In and Commencement.
 
This role has responsibilities for both family engagement and the Denison professional network:
Family Engagement
  • Coordinate engaging events that foster connections, enhance the sense of belonging, and accelerate onboarding for Denison families. Events include:
    • regionally-based summer family receptions
    • Family Weekend
    • Move-In Day Opportunities
    • legacy family events on Move-In Day, Family Weekend, Big Red Weekend, and Commencement
    • Oversee and monitor the Denison Family Facebook group
  • Assist in the creation of family communications and publications, including our Family calendar, monthly Family Newsletter, Family website, and other publications
  • Collaborate with campus partners on other key touchpoints for families, including First-Year Move-in and Commencement.
  • Oversee and monitor the Denison Family Facebook group
Denison Professional Network
  • Help to implement the Alumni and Family Engagement (AFE)’s strategic plan priority focused on enhancing and expanding the Denison Professional Network.
  • Work collaboratively with the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration to design and offer professional opportunities for alumni
  • Help to coordinate and support alumni professional programming, including the ReMix event series, virtual opportunities, and regional professionally-focused alumni events
  • Oversee and monitor our LinkedIn Alumni Networks to enhance the Denison Professional Network and engage alumni volunteers to help sustain them
  • Support Ask-a-Denisonian
This role is part of the Alumni & Family Engagement (AFE) team and the Advancement division. This position is expected to work various AFE and Advancement events that are outside of their specific scope of responsibilities (e.g. Commencement Weekend, Reunion Weekend, Big Red Weekend, etc.).

Perform other duties as assisgned

Some travel is required.
 
Work Schedule
Typically Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30pm
Some weekend and evening work required
Some travel required

After a preliminary onboarding period, Institutional Advancement staff have the ability to work up to two days per week remotely.
 
Minimum Qualificiations: 
A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required for this position as is at least five years of relevant experience.

Must have a current, valid driver’s license and must be insurable under Denison’s liability insurance policy.
